Attendance: Attendance is mandatory. The class format will
include small and large group discussions and writing workshops; therefore, getting
the “lecture notes” from a classmate will not be an effective substitute for
attendance. Each
absence in excess of two will lower you course grade by one letter.
Participation counts for 15% of your total grade and consists of:
- coming to class on time and prepared
- completing the reading assignments
- engaging in classroom and online discussions
- being an active member of collaborative activities
- dialogue with peers and instructor during writing activities
